Information About Different Streams After 10th
Let's talk about it.. because it's about whole life...
So... firstly If u have a deep interest in something then go for it without caring about the damn World.
And if not, let's talk about the possibilities....
My story :
When I passed 10th std., there was no one to guide me about stream selection in +2. I didn't know a fuck about commerce because till 10th you don't learn anything related to commerce. Arts was not my cup of tea because as you know we can't bear History, civics etc. So now, only left was science. It also had 2 streams: Maths & Bio. Math was out of capacity ๐ & Bio was favorite as usual. So, finally it was decided, that yes, I'm going to take science with bio in +2. Now started, if you're gonna take bio, prepare for medical then. I just wanted to pass 12th with bio. I didn't have any plan of doing medical. But, then I thought, what's wrong with medical, "เคตเคนी เคธเคฌ เคจ เคชเคขเคจा เคนोเคा เคो เคเค เคคเค เคชเคขเคคे เคเคฏे เคนै, เคนो เคाเคเคा ।"
So stupid of me to think like this seriously! Why? Ok, let's see this:
Imagine you are swimming in a pool with chemical processed water which is high in buoyancy and don't let you sink and you think that you have learnt swimming. And then, suddenly someone leave you in a river. You think what's new, I'm doing it since ages. I can swim here as well. But unfortunately the flow is so vigorous that after sometime you are unable to balance yourself and then comes the final stage, you leave everything on God ๐ . This is it! It's the reality of difference between syllabus till 10th and syllabus in +2. So, beware, enter at your own risk. And And and! 2 Min. of silence for those who think that if they will take bio in +2, they won't have to study maths anymore. How relieved feeling n! But my dear, this is so so sooooooo wrong. There's a lot and lot of Maths in Physics and Chemistry both. And that too a tougher one than Maths itself. And addition to that, if you don't get a good teacher, then my dear, you are all ruined. Somehow we all managed to pass 12th boards with first division. But most of us, I repeat, most of us were in either 60s or 70s percentage category. And this was a very bad condition for us because colleges in India has a very high cut off list, so if you are an average percentage holder, You have least chance to get into a good college and that's where your career starts ruining. I feel, this is a very bad reality of our education system, but yaa, sadly this is what it is.
So, this was my experience in Science (bio) stream in +2.
But, if you are ready to at least study for 4-5 hours daily, then it's not that much tough. Just remember one thing, don't let the fluency/link break. I mean, don't make gaps in days for study because once you stop studying, after few days, you'll realize that you are lagging behind and then it will be very difficult to catch up again. So, if you're really interested in science and are a laborious student then, go for it man. All The Best.
And if we talk about career options after 12th, then listen, there are many, but sadly most of them don't have a developed scope in India. So, choose that carefully too.
p.s.: If you are going to do medical after +2, then no problem. Make sure you get above 60% in 12th and just prepare for medical entrance exams.
And, students who are going to take PCM(physics, chemistry, maths), Let me tell you... เคोเคถ เคฎें เคนोเคถ เคฎเคค เคเคตाเคจा! I mean, I've seen it, if friends are taking maths, student take it without thinking twice. Dude, it not about celebrating friendship or it's not a joke to study maths and prepare for Engineering (IIT). JEE is one of the toughest exam of India. So, if you really have the potential to study for 10-12 hours daily and have a very good concentration power, only then choose Maths as your future. And one more thing to remember, total time which you'll give on physics and chemistry to study, You'll have to give that much or more than that over Maths alone.
Now, let's go to the commerce section :
As I said, I was a science student, so don't have much idea about commerce, but I can say it's easier than science of course.
I've talked to many of my friends who have taken commerce in +2. So, whatever information I'll provide here is on the basis of those experiences of theirs.
Firstly, subjects in commerce:
1. Accountancy
2. Economics
3. Business Studies
Apart from this, there will be one or more language and other subjects like:
Physical Education
Painting
Music etc.
which totally depends on school that which subject they'll provide.
So, basically in commerce, the toughest of them all is said to be Accountancy. And if you ask about maths, then yes there is maths, both in accountancy and economics.
Accounts is quite tough and students often cry over that ๐. Economics can be taken as of medium level. And business studies is about theory.
Basically, it's easier than science. I'm saying this because as a science student, we often cried over it that why didn't we take commerce in +2.
Now, rest is your choice. I'm not saying commerce is all easy. No! Education can never be a lullaby. Ok, so mind it, You'll have to study in any stream.
At last, It's Arts.. whom often we underestimate. But honestly saying, it's a very vast field. Arts is not only about Social Studies. It's far more than that.
I myself has switched into arts in graduation.
So, subjects under arts are:
1. History
2. Geography
3. Economics
4. Political Science
Apart from it, as I said earlier, there will be other subjects which depends on the school. It's all theory and a scoring stream in +2. And don't worry that you won't have any career options if you take Arts in +2. There are a lot and lot of fields after 12th in Arts. But ya, it's a fact that if you've taken Arts in +2, you can't switch into commerce or science stream in graduation. But as I said, apart from some fields like medical, Engineering, CA and some others which I can't remember, sorry for that, you can try in any other fields with arts as your stream. It can be educational fields like:
Banking, Railways, IPS, IAS, Law and others...
Or it can be creative fields like:
Mass Communication, Designing, Fine Arts, Music and many more.
At end, all I'll say is that, keep one thing in mind, whatever you've studied till 10th, is just a few percent of what you have to study in +2. I mean, the syllabus becomes so vast in +2 and it's a fact why most of the students can't cope up. So, be ready for a new and a tougher chapter of your life. You'll have to work harder from whatever you've done till now.
So, ALL THE BEST.
So, now I think I have provided enough information regarding this topic. And yes, whatever I've written is all my experience (in science stream) and my friends saying. Anyone who find something irrelevant, you are welcome to share your opinion over this topic in comment section so that students can have benefit from this article.
P.S.: I was kinda very bright student. I scored above 95% in 10th. I'm providing this information because many people may think that I've written so much negative things, so I must be an average or low student. But no, this is not right. ๐
